Terms of Service
Effective August 17, 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the Saka Logistics customer app, driver app, and website. By creating an account or using Saka Logistics, you agree to them.
What Saka Logistics is
Saka Logistics operates a marketplace app and website that connects customers who need to move goods with independent drivers and fleet managers ('transporters') who offer transport services. Saka Logistics is not a carrier, does not own vehicles, and does not employ transporters. When you post or accept a shipment, you are entering into an arrangement directly with the other party — Saka Logistics provides the platform, not the transport itself.
- Saka Logistics is operated by UPSTAIRS TECHNOLOGY SOLUTIONS LIMITED, incorporation number 185834050, which operates from Mbezi Beach, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.
Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract in Tanzania to use Saka Logistics. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide — including your name, contact details, and any business or verification documents — and for keeping your account credentials secure. Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.
Bidding, offers, and when an agreement is formed
Customers post a shipment with its details, route, and budget. Transporters submit offers; either side can counter-offer and use in-app chat to negotiate price and delivery terms.
A binding agreement between the customer and the transporter forms when the customer accepts an offer, or a transporter accepts a customer's counter-offer, for a specific shipment. From that point, both parties are expected to honour the agreed price, route, and delivery expectations for that shipment. Saka Logistics is not a party to that agreement.
Prohibited and dangerous goods
You may not use Saka Logistics to ship illegal goods; hazardous or dangerous materials (including flammable, explosive, corrosive, or toxic substances); firearms or weapons; live animals without the transporter's prior agreement and appropriate care; or any item prohibited under Tanzanian law. We may remove a shipment listing or suspend an account that violates this.
Cancellations
Either party may cancel a shipment before an offer is accepted, with no obligation to the other. Once an offer is accepted and a shipment is in progress, cancellation terms — including whether any amount already paid is refunded — are agreed directly between the customer and the transporter, since price and terms were set by their own negotiation. Saka Logistics does not currently set a standard cancellation fee.
Payments
Payments are made through our payment partner, using M-Pesa, Airtel Money, card, or a dynamic QR code. The price for a shipment is whatever the customer and transporter agreed during bidding and negotiation — Saka Logistics does not publish a rate card, a standard commission, or a fixed fee structure.
Card details are entered directly on our payment partner's hosted checkout page. Saka Logistics does not receive or store your card number.
Ratings, reviews, and content standards
After a shipment is completed, customers and transporters may rate and review each other. Ratings and comments must be honest and based on your own experience. You may not post false, abusive, defamatory, or misleading content. We may remove content or suspend accounts that violate this.
Liability and disclaimers
Saka Logistics provides the marketplace platform 'as is' and does not guarantee that a shipment will be fulfilled, that a transporter or customer will meet their obligations, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
Because Saka Logistics is not the carrier, we are not liable for loss, damage, delay, or any dispute arising from the transport of goods between a customer and a transporter — that responsibility sits with the parties who agreed to the shipment. To the maximum extent permitted by Tanzanian law, Saka Logistics disclaims liability for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Dispute resolution
Disputes about a shipment — such as damaged goods, late delivery, or a disagreement over agreed terms — should first be raised directly between the customer and transporter using in-app chat, or reported to us through the in-app support report feature. Saka Logistics may help facilitate a resolution but is not obliged to arbitrate or compensate for the outcome of a dispute between users.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly or through our support process is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tanzania.
Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms as the service changes. We will update the effective date above when we do, and continued use of Saka Logistics after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
